Marjorie is the founder and resident diosa of Tango Bellingham. In 2002 she brought the first Argentine tango teachers to Bellingham and has since sponsored many workshops, milongas, and concerts to offer locals a glimpse of the authentic music and dance of Argentine tango. With Michael as teaching and dance partner, she enjoys sharing her passion with students in hopes that they will become avid tangueros.

During the last thirteen years, she has studied with a variety of teachers and counts these as the most influential: Robert Hauk, Alex Krebs, Sharna Fabiano, Daniel Trenner, Susana Miller, and Chicho Frumboli. In addition to studying and teaching, she has produced several concerts featuring musicians such as the Gomez/Mendez Duo from Buenos Aires, Bertram Levy's trio from Pt. Townsend, and Alex Krebs from Portland. Chez Marjorie is often home to many guest artists; the friendship, dancing, laughter, and education that transpires are among the most treasured of tango highs.

About 20 years ago Michael went to see a jazz dance concert in Houston; the ticket read "Redeem for one free class." Jazz led to ballet which led to modern which led to Savoy-style lindy hop, and finally to that first Argentine tango class in Dallas. He never looked back. Michael continues to study Argentine tango with regional and international teachers, hoping to instill in his students the same passion and committment that drives him.
